| Who is "The City"? "It's not the Mayors, the Council Members, or the Commissioners who make up the municipal corporation, nor is it the City's Government, it's officers, or it's employees. A municipal corporation would continue to exist without any of these persons. The people are, in fact, the political body. They comprise the corporate units which forms the organized society. CITY COUNCIL MEMBER - WARD 3
Wellington, Kansas
Each month I host a "Neighborhood Meeting", a meeting held to make citizens aware of City issues
and events and solicit their opinion as to my direction. The decisions I make are based on all citizen
contact, whether it is in-person, by phone, mail, or email, and not just based on these meetings.
My meetings are very informal; those who choose to arrive early and dine are welcome to, but it is
not a requirement. I inform the citizens on agenda and upcoming items, let them know how past
items were handled, and solicit their opinion, ideas and concerns. I then open the meeting up to
anyone who has a comment or question.
While I only allow the citizens of 3rd Ward to influence my vote, I welcome and encourage any
citizen who wants to stay informed to attend my meeting. I regularly have attendees from all Wards
of the City.
Whether or not you have a comment, question, or concern, anyone is welcome to attend and sit and
listen. It is vital that we stay informed on how our City Government is working.
